The Conwy & Denbighshire NHS Trust came into operation on the 1st April 1999. Staff have come together to form the new Trust from parts of these earlier organisations:
- Glan Clwyd District General Hospital NHS Trust
- Gwynedd Community Health Trust
- Clwydian Community Care NHS Trust
The Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust is one of the biggest employers in North Wales with around 4,100 staff. It has an annual turnover of approximately £115 million. The Trust consists of 11 hospitals, together with mental health facilities, day hospitals and a number of health centres and clinics. The Trust also hosts the Community Dental Service for all of North Wales and the Clinical Psychology Service for two trusts, Conwy & Denbighshire and North East Wales. Additionally, it manages the All Wales Risk Pool and Welsh Health Legal Services.
