You will be a leading member of the Division of Psychology & Psychological Therapies services (DPPT) and be involved in supporting key service developments across the Working Age Adult community including the Living Well framework which embodies Primary Care, Secondary Care Social Care and VCSEs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Practitioner Psychologist to work up to 5 days per week and provide a high-quality clinical service across the CMHTs in North East Derbyshire & Bolsover You will be involved in the co-design of improved services for people with complex needs focusing on increased access to psychologically informed, co-produced care.

Main duties of the job

We are excited to offer this 8b role with excellent opportunities for an experienced Psychologist to consolidate and further develop their specialist skills in Adult Mental Health.

You will be a senior Clinical Psychologist within the North Derbyshire service and provide an expert person-centred clinical service through individual and group work as well as indirect work to support DPPT and multidisciplinary colleagues through advice, consultation and supervision.

You will also take a key role in service developments across working age adults community services. You will have excellent relationship-building skills and abilities to manage varied work demands, including research and audit.

Managed within Psychology, you will be joining a committed team of highly skilled Psychologists and Psychological Therapists working within Adult community services, and a wide network of Psychologists working in other specialties across DPPT in Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

We have clinicians with training and experience in a range of therapeutic models including ISTDP, MBT, ACT, CFT, Systemic therapy, CAT, EMDR. There are multiple opportunities for peer support, specialist supervision groups (eg therapy models, dissociation, EMDR, neuropsychology) and regular CPD events. We have excellent links with local Clinical Psychology Training Courses and provide regular placements and teaching.

We are transforming all our Trust’s CMHTs by providing personalised, trauma-informed care and you will join the Division of Psychology and Psychological Services who have a pivotal role in this.

  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
  • Good written communication skills with the ability to make complex information accessible with service users, staff and also the wider peer/academic community.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of publications and the processes involved.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Post–graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the B.P.S., and giving eligibility for Chartered including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan development psychology
  • Eligible for Chartered status with the BPS
  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council
  • Formal training in supervision of other psychologists
  • Specialist training across a range of relevant adult mental health presentations e.g. complex trauma
Desirable criteria
  • Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
  • Chartered Status with the BPS
  • Leadership training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Mental Health experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist including at a highly specialist level (usually for a minimum of four years, including two years at a highly specialised level)
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of clients across a broad range of settings
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with clients with dual diagnosis (including substance misuse). Experience of working with people with neurodevelopmental issues
