Job overview

Radiology is a milestone in the patient pathway and, as technologies continue to improve and demand increases, the Trust's Radiology department is becoming one of the busiest areas of the hospital to work.

Join us as a Clerical Officer and you could soon be part of a dedicated Reception Team working at Conquest Hospital and Bexhill Community Diagnostic Centre where the reception role underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care making a positive difference to the patient experience

Main duties of the job

22.5 hours per week - covering shifts of 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm and 12pm to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday - All shifts on a rota basis covering the Conquest Hospital and Bexhill Community Diagnostic Centre.

The successful Clerical Officer will provide a professional, comprehensive and efficient reception service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the department; as well as working as part of an experienced team of Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, Sonographers, Nurses and RDAs.

We require someone who has excellent organisational and Interpersonal skills and who can continuously improve themselves and help others to do so within our department. The successful candidate will be a key part of the reception team and will welcome patients and visitors alike to the department.  You will have excellent communication skills, be caring and empathetic to patient needs, and embody the Trust Values.

You will have significant previous receptionist or admin and clerical experience in a Radiology or busy office environment.  You should be multi-skilled to manage a range of procedures using high levels of initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to acquire knowledge and undertake department training as required

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 2 or 3 in Business Administration or Customer Service

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant previous receptionist or admin and clerical experience in a busy office environment
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience working in a Radiology administration role
  • Previous experience working within the NHS
  • Previous experience of data entry on in-house data systems
