Join our Digital Support team where you'll provide first and second-line IT support, help maintain critical IT systems and equipment, and work with colleagues across the Trust to keep digital services running smoothly. You'll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while making a real difference to the services that support patient care.

Main duties of the job

As an IT Technician, you will provide first and second-line technical support to Trust staff, resolving hardware, software and access issues through the service desk, remote support tools and on-site visits.

You will install, configure and maintain IT equipment and user accounts, ensuring systems, devices and records are managed accurately and in line with Trust standards and service levels.

Working closely with colleagues, suppliers and end users, you will help deliver a reliable, customer-focused IT service while supporting the ongoing development and improvement of digital services across the Trust.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grades A – C) or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate
  • NVQ II in Information Technology or equivalent level of experience

Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years working in an IT infrastructure environment
  • Experience of working in either a Service Desk environment or an IT support
  • Customer Care experience

Skills/ Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to understand and interpret user requirements and develop and communicate appropriate responses
  • Ability to influence people and decisions
  • Excellent analytical and judgement skills
  • Ability to work to set timescales
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to work on own initiative when this is required
  • Presentation, Teaching and Training skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Legible Handwriting
  • Knowledge of IT Network configurations
  • Knowledge of Wired & Wireless Networks and Management
  • Knowledge of PC and Server Network configurations
  • Knowledge of Network security and implementation methods
