York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) was created in 2018 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of York Teaching Hospital NHS
Foundation Trust.

The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary management team. The department
provides management, development, maintenance and operational support for the Trust's buildings and engineering infrastructure.

The role is critical to the Estates Department's maintenance support service and is demanding and varied as it covers a range of engineering
services. The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of engineering services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities of a very busy directorate and to be part of a team that is constantly working to improve the quality and
safety of the Trust's healthcare facilities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be based at York but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites when required. You will be part of a team
working dayshift Monday to Friday but also covering when necessary across other Trust sites hence you must be flexible regarding the hours of
duty and will be expected to undertake appropriate training as part of the job role.

The successful candidate will primarily assist the painting team with all aspects of their work in providing a high quality and reliable service
and have a good general knowledge of painting and decorating services.
The successful candidate must be able to work co-operatively as part of a team comprising of electrical, mechanical and building specialists and
have demonstrable experience of working within a maintenance environment.

The successful candidate will be required to travel independently across the Trust sites.

Essential criteria
  • National Vocational Qualification to level 3 (such as City and Guilds) or National Vocational Qualification Level 2 with substantial post qualification experience and successful completion of appropriate training courses.
  • Full and clean UK driving license

Experience

  • Knowledge of up-to-date processes in painting and decorating
