We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our busy and supportive Emergency Department at Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for Band 5 nurses to develop their skills within a fast-paced and rewarding environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, working independently while supported by experienced clinicians and a strong multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care without direct supervision
  • Deliver care in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records
  • Demonstrate professional behaviour at all times
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, relatives, and colleagues
  • Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and privacy
  • Identify and escalate concerns where quality of care or safety may be compromised
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic care
  • Support and supervise healthcare support workers and student nurses
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive environment promoting equality and diversity
  • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with live NMC Pin.
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of work based learning nursing modules
  • Completion of required the Trusts mandatory training updates.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of relevant post basic study.
  • Able to make judgements based on evidence based practice and translate this for use in the ward environment
  • To be able to demonstrate understanding of current developments in the NHS and their implications for nursing and quality care for patients

Physical Skills

Essential criteria
  • Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder e.g. manual handling of patients.

Aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Professional / role model
