As an experienced specialist podiatrist within RDaSH you would:

•Work in varied settings across Doncaster.

•Provide quality care which focuses on those with high risk conditions, rotate into MDT foot ulcer team, nail surgery.

•Formulate & implement podiatry interventions, including lower limb MSK assessment, manufacture & provision of insoles for those at increased risk due to long term conditions.

•An annual appraisal & personal development plan, supportive mentorship & essential learning required by the Trust. RDaSH engage, involve & support staff to reach their full potential.

• To become part of our Team- involvement in team meetings, make valuable suggestions to influence & help make changes to service, to use innovative technology and make a real difference to patient’s health.

Main duties of the job

Assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of foot pathologies for patients seen within a wide range of settings, some of which may be in isolation, e.g. health centre community clinics, GP practice clinics, domiciliary visits, physical/mental health/learning difficulties and social services establishments. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills further in the specialist areas:

         MSK conditions, fitting and modifying off the shelf orthotics

         Nail surgery and other minor soft tissue procedures

         Wound care including diabetes foot ulcer management

         Education of staff and patients

         Audit and research projects

         Multidisciplinary working with other specialist services such as TVAL, diabetologists, vascular, podiatry surgery.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent diploma in podiatric medicine
  • POM-a and POM-s
  • HCPC registered
Desirable criteria
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Teaching/ mentorship qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working in healthcare setting
  • Team member
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communicator
  • Reliable
  • Motivated and innovative
  • Demonstrable post registration/qualification experience.
  • Experience of successful multi-agency working.
  • Demonstrable experience in relevant area of practice or equivalent.
