Permanent Positions
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our AAU department at Isle of Wight NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for Band 5 nurses to develop their skills within a fast-paced and rewarding environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, working independently while supported by experienced clinicians and a strong multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
- Assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care without direct supervision
- Deliver care in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records
- Demonstrate professional behaviour at all times
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, relatives, and colleagues
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and privacy
- Identify and escalate concerns where quality of care or safety may be compromised
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic care
- Support and supervise healthcare support workers and student nurses
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive environment promoting equality and diversity
- Engage in continuous professional development opportunities

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with live NMC Pin.
Desirable criteria
- Completion of work based learning nursing modules
- Completion of required the Trusts mandatory training updates.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Evidence of relevant post basic study.
- Able to make judgements based on evidence based practice and translate this for use in the ward environment
- To be able to demonstrate understanding of current developments in the NHS and their implications for nursing and quality care for patients
Physical Skills

- Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder e.g. manual handling of patients.
