Job overview
The three Finance Officer ‘post holders’ main responsibilities are to Operate the Trust’s computerised Purchase Ledger System ensuring the Trust’s suppliers invoices are processed for payment within a specified timescale.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
Main duties of the job
Operation of the Trust's computerised Purchase Ledger System ensuring suppliers invoices and credit notes are processed for payment within the National financial reporting timetable.
Provide support to other members of the Team and also the wider Organisation to ensure compliance with the Trust's financial procedures.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- English and Maths at level 2 or equivalent (GCSE 9-4 or A*- C or functional skills level 2)
- NVQ level 3 in related subject or willingness to undertake a relevant Level 3 Apprenticeship (Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working in a similar professional environment within a support or administrative role.
- Previous experience of purchase ledger management.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in an NHS environment.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of basic accounting records and processes.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures relating to NHS legislation.
Skills/ Abilities
Essential criteria
- Competent in the use of email, internet and Excel.
- Use of financial systems
- Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Desirable criteria
- Use of Centros/ Integra financial system.
Additional Requirements
Essential criteria
- Personal Characteristics: Excellent organisational, presentational and time management skills.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
