Job overview

RFL Property Services (RFLPS) as a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL) are seeking highly motivated, organised, and capable individual to act as Senior Estates & Facilities Contracts Manager for the Contracts & Performance Department 

The Contracts and Performance department manage Estates & Facilities contracts, and Group services on behalf of the RFLPS, RFL and their partner NHS organisations.   

As Senior Estates & Facilities Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of managing complex NHS contracts, Estate and Supplier agreements across RFLPS' services. You will act as a key interface between RFLPS and our clients and contract partners, working closely with internal stakeholders including clinical and non-clinical staff, procurement, and finance.  

We are recruiting for two roles, one to lead on Estates & Facilities and one to lead on consumables supply.  Although each role will provide specific services, there will be a level of cross cover required to support business needs.

Your leadership and contractual insight will help ensure that RFLPS continues to meet and exceed its obligations, innovate within its services, and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Internal Departments, Commissioners, NHS and non-NHS providers. 

Main duties of the job

This role will involve: 

  • Operational management of the day-to-day contracts management service across all RFLPS and client sites.
  • Support the Head of Facilities Management Contracts in developing and implementing effective and efficient commercial contract management and performance management infrastructure.
  • Contribute to development of the annual work programme including the procurement pipeline, formulating plans and priorities.
  • Key point of contact for all contract related queries and issues, being accessible to service users and contractors across all sites.
  • Lead the full contract lifecycle for a varied portfolio of NHS services, estates and supplier contracts.
  • Monitor, analyse and report with a focus on contractual obligations the performance against KPIs, quality indicators, and financial budgets to ensure contract compliance, supporting with the development of contractual performance dashboards and reports of key services.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree/Diploma or equivalent level of contract management or estates & facilities management experience.
  • Sustained record of continued professional development.
Desirable criteria
  • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
  • Membership of relevant professional body (e.g., CIPS, IWFM, CIOB, RICS) or willing to work towards.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of Estates & Facilities/ Contract Management/ Procurement at a senior level with demonstrable achievements.
  • Experience of working with contractors, and managing contracts.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of operational service management and service improvement projects.
  • Experience of NHS or public sector.
