NWLP Project Manager

Band 8A

North West London Pathology (NWLP) is an NHS pathology partnership joint venture between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. NWLP is modelled as a shared services organisation jointly owned by the three Trusts. The organisation is hosted by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and as the legal entity for NWLP our staff are employed by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

NWLP is based on a ‘hub and spoke’ structure; the majority of routine, specialist and non-urgent activity is centralised at our hub site at Charing Cross Hospital. Urgent tests required for immediate patient management and treatment are performed in 24/7 Essential Service Laboratories based on-site within the seven hospital sites in the group.

The partnership has created an innovative and sustainable service that delivers outstanding quality to users and patients alike. This innovative approach allows the service to better manage demand, standardise operations, improve value for money and make use of state-of-the-art technology.

Our values are to be patient-focused, collaborative, expert and caring.

Job overview

We have a unique and truly exciting opportunity for experienced Project Managers to join our Portfolio Office team in North West London Pathology (NWLP).

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through to implementation, working alongside clinical, scientific, and operational stakeholders. You will develop robust project plans, manage risks and issues, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered successfully against agreed objectives, timescales and budgets.

Project Managers within the Portfolio Office are assigned to a diverse range of projects and initiatives covering areas such as digital systems and integration, laboratory technology and automation, and service redesign and operational improvement.

If you are passionate about project delivery and are looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a large and innovative NHS pathology network, we would be delighted to hear from you.

  • Ensure all project activities are in line with the project scope and delivery schedule.
  • Develop and maintain the high quality project documentation during the project lifecycle, from project initiation to project closure.
  • Ensure documentation version control and filling to the
