Job overview

Are you passionate about improving the lives of people with learning disabilities? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary Community Learning Disability Team in Doncaster.

Working as part of an experienced and supportive MDT, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support to individuals with complex needs, helping to improve quality of life, promote independence, and reduce behaviours of concern through
person-centred approaches.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with experience in learning disabilities and positive behaviour support who is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and making a meaningful difference to the lives of people and their families.

The service offers a supportive multidisciplinary working environment where professional development, supervision and continuous learning are actively encouraged. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and
specialist PBS pathways, while making a real difference to the lives of people with learning  disabilities and their families across Doncaster.

If you're looking for a role where you can work within an experienced MDT and make a lasting impact on the lives of adults with learning disabilities, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

• Complete specialist functional assessments and formulations for people with learning disabilities and autism who present with behaviours of concern.

• Develop, implement and review Positive Behaviour Support plans in partnership with individuals, families, carers and professionals.

• Provide specialist PBS advice, guidance and consultation to colleagues, support providers and partner agencies.

• Manage a defined caseload and contribute to holistic assessment, intervention and care planning within the MDT.

• Deliver PBS-related training, coaching and support to staff, carers and other stakeholders.

• Promote trauma-informed, evidence-based and person-centred approaches in all aspects of practice.

• Contribute to service development, clinical governance, quality improvement and audit activities.

• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards.
