Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

Band 5

Job overview

NHS Doncaster Talking Therapies is seeking to recruit two qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to join our growing service.

One post will be based within the Core Talking Therapies Team, supporting adults experiencing common mental health difficulties, and one post will be based within the Long-Term Conditions (LTC) Talking Therapies Team, providing psychological support to people living with long-term physical health conditions alongside common mental health difficulties.

Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) PWP training programme,  and hold current professional registration with either the BABCP or BPS.

The successful candidates will deliver evidence-based, low-intensity interventions to patients experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Interventions are provided through a range of formats including face-to-face appointments, telephone, video consultations, typed therapy (eClinic), and psychoeducational groups. Post holders will manage a high-volume caseload while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

These are hybrid roles and are not fully remote positions. Post holders will be expected to work from NHS premises and community venues across Doncaster as required, alongside opportunities for home working. As the role involves travel across the locality, the ability to travel independently is essential.

Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the service referral protocols, refer unsuitable clients to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary, or use clinical judgement to determine whether treatment is required at intensity psychological therapy.

Engage in regular clinical and case management supervision, clinical skills sessions and deliver group therapy.

Attend additional training as and when required.
