Admiral Nurse, Clinics Programme (Central region)

This year, the Charity has embarked on an exciting three-year corporate partnership with Nationwide Building Society. As part of this initiative, we’ve launched face-to-face Admiral Nurse clinics, bringing expert dementia support directly to high streets across the UK.

As part of the Nationwide Clinics Programme team, you will provide in-person support and advice, imparting specialist dementia nursing expertise and biopsychosocial support. Your focus will be in supporting family carers, people affected by dementia, and professionals who require specialist dementia guidance in areas of the UK where such services are currently unavailable, bringing a much-needed service directly to local communities.

This opportunity will be covering Central England, including areas in Oxfordshire, East Stafford, North Warwick and Northamptonshire.

This unique nursing opportunity allows travel across the country, including some overnight stays. You will receive planned project days fully supported by the Academy, similar to our Delivered services. Flexibility is essential, whilst predominately you will be covering a defined region, you may be required to cover areas outside of this to meet business needs. Throughout your work, you will consistently promote Admiral Nursing and a family-centered approach to dementia care.

To apply, you must be a registered nurse with the NMC, have significant experience in Admiral Nursing or dementia care, and demonstrate a history of delivering dementia care in various settings to individuals with dementia and their families and carers. As this role requires extensive travel, access to a vehicle may be preferred, however, is not essential.

Admiral Nurse – South Asian communities

Join our Delivered Services team as an Admiral Nurse and bring your specialist dementia nursing expertise to South Asian communities facing issues in relation to dementia.

Working nationally, you will support families impacted by dementia through telephone, video consultations, and face-to-face sessions in designated clinic settings.

As an Admiral Nurse, you will lead and participate in formal training events to promote best practices in dementia care, actively contributing to the dissemination of Admiral Nursing practices. You will also take part in the development and implementation of Dementia UK work streams where relevant. In addition, you will collect and analyse both quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate and audit the Admiral Nurse Clinic, ensuring all nursing practices comply with Dementia UK’s policies and procedures and the NMC Code 2015.

To succeed in this role, you must be an active Registered Nurse on the NMC register with a post-registration qualification or training in dementia care or a related field. You should have a knowledge and understanding of the needs and challenges faced by the South Asian Communities community, with proven experience in working with individuals and families from this community and/or other groups experiencing health inequalities.

You should have significant experience as an Admiral Nurse or dementia specialist nurse, having worked with individuals with dementia and their families, carers, and supporters across various settings.

Join our Delivered Services team as an Admiral Nurse and bring your specialist dementia nursing expertise to Black African Caribbean communities facing issues in relation to dementia.
