West Hill School is a special school for children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or previously referred to in Surrey as Learning and Additional Needs (LAN).

It has a long history of being a highly successful special school. 

Our vision is for every child at West Hill to achieve as much as they possibly can and we will do everything possible to ensure that every child receives the best teaching, learning opportunities, curriculum, excellent staff/child/parent relationships and additional support to make this happen.

We take responsibility for nurturing and developing the personal qualities of every child and will emphasise the importance of exemplary behaviour and help children learn how to show it.

We provide our staff with the tools and support to instil a strong learning culture in their classrooms. Teaching at West Hill is excellent. Our team of dedicated staff are committed to all of our children, every day.

We believe that children whose parents are involved in their learning do better than if they are not. We involve parents in their children’s learning and encourage them to be active members of the school community. Parent communication is organised to encourage wide participation and honest conversation.
