Job overview

The post holder will need to maintain their specialist knowledge of non-invasive such as fitting 24Hr tapes (Holter) and ambulatory blood pressure, assisting exercise test and walk-in ECG.

The post holder will need to be able to perform with supervision.

To assist the Principal Manager to provide the day-day clinical-technical services of the Community and Department.

The post holder will also be required to carry outsome administrative, environmental and housekeeping tasks.

Main duties of the job

As an Assisstant Cardiac physiologist, post-holder must:

To udertake non-invasive procedures such as ECG, fitting 24hR holter monitor and ambulatory blood pressure.

To recognise the significance of investigation findings/diagnoses and act on these accordingly.

To help prioritise the performance of investigations according to clinical need.

To assist the Principal Manager in carrying out the daily work allocationof the Department.

To help ensure that all equipment in use within Community Cardiology services is in safe working order and fully functional.

To help with the maintenance of consumable stocks and replenishment of the same as necessary, working within the Department's budgetary and logistic constraints.

To be trained and accredited under the auspices of the Resuscitation Coulcil (UK) and to partake in providing Basic Life Support (BLS) cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as and when necessary.

  • Qualified for HPC Registration (BSc degree or HTEC & suitable equivalent experience). . ILS certified.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Both effective independent and team worker
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Good analytical and judgemental skills
  • Basic computer literacy to the level required for routine use of clinical systems

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Competency, specialised knowledge, and practioner level skills and at least 1 years postgraduate experience in all physiology skills
