Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nursing team on the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). 

CCU is a 22 bedded unit caring for patients experiencing acute cardiac emergencies and is a primary PCI centre admitting patients from all over Wessex and the Chanel Islands. It forms a part of the internationally renowned Wessex Cardiac Centre and many of the consultants covering the care of the CCU patients are both nationally and internationally renowned. 
The main sub-specialties of admitted patients are: 

Interventional cardiology 

Heart failure

Electrophysiology 

Cardiac imaging 

Congenital heart disease

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for a person with a positive proactive leadership style, a team player who is passionate about developing staff so they in turn deliver a high standard of patient care. You must have significant experience in a relevant speciality, with the aptitude and skill necessary to lead and motivate a team of nurses and allied health professionals, working closely with the MDT.

  • Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
  • Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
  • Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
