Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To oversee the delivery of psychological care across the Community & Wellbeing service line.

To oversee the governance of psychological therapies and interventions.

To provide line management to lead psychological professionals across community teams, Family Therapy Team, and Rough Sleepers Mental Health Team.

To oversee the development and running of recording and reporting systems on activity and outcome data for the interventions delivered by Psychological Professionals and utilise this data to inform service planning and development.

To work collectively as a core member of the senior leadership team along with head of operations and clinical lead, and with other senior managers.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Doctorate level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS (or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996) with HCPC registration OR Doctorate level training in Counselling Psychology with HCPC registration OR Masters or above in a psychotherapy, and accredited as a psychotherapist with UKCP, or BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) OR Postgraduate Diploma qualification in Cognitive and/or Behavioural Psychotherapy AND Accreditation with BABCP as a CBT therapist AND with either a prior core profession or via KSA route

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of teaching, training and supervision of other staff: clinical and professional/managerial
Additional post qualification training and experience relevant to the service and job role outlined in the job summary including clinical supervisor training.
Experience in taking a lead on projects/services within health care systems

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Doctoral or equivalent level of knowledge of research methodology, research design and service evaluation as practiced within the fields of psychological professions

Fixed Term Contracts for existing NHS Employees – temporary contracts for employees of LYPFT, or colleagues joining from another NHS Trust, will be offered on a secondment basis wherever possible. In the event this is not possible, an FTC would be issued and this would require a break in service of two weeks.

The purpose of a temporary is role could be for maternity cover, temporary funding or some other reason. At the end of which the need for the temporary work will cease. Temporary roles can stop, be extended and/or made permanent at any point during the period of work. Should the role become permanent then the post-holder will be informed of the process to be followed to convert the position to a permanent one.
