Probationary Period

All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working

All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.

Job overview

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a committed, dynamic and enthusiastic Anaesthetic Consultant to join our friendly, cohesive and ACSA accredited team for a fixed term locum post for 12 months.

The successful applicant will join a large team of 26 Consultants Anaesthetists at Warwick Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Direct clinical care includes all clinical and associated direct activity, e.g. pre- and post-operative care and communication. It is accepted that the content of different consultants’ job plans will vary, but parity will be maintained by ensuring a balanced job plan for each consultant. This approach is taken to ensure a continuing and reasonable degree of flexibility both in terms of continuity of care and in facilitating cross-cover of sessions between consultants. The actual content of programmed activities will be monitored periodically by use of a work diary at job plan review.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This proposed 10 PA post will consist an 8 week cycle, some weeks have a higher number of DCC sessions than others, and it is remunerated at 9 DCC Programmed activities / 1 SPA per week.
