Job overview

 This post is 1 year fixed term for 0.6 PA's 

The successful candidate will work with the existing team in delivering a high qualify nephrology service.  The candidate is expected to:

·         Deliver general nephrology clinics and renal transplant clinics as required.

·         Provide sessions flexibly to cover commitments of colleagues when they are on leave or on call

·         Participate in GIM rota (1:17 weekends)

·         Participate in the various departmental meetings

·         Participate in the assessment of outpatient referrals and A&G requests

·         Play a full part in the teaching and training commitments of the department

·         Participate in the process of clinical governance, including clinical audit

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

 

·         Participate in the annual consultant appraisal process, in line with the Trust’s appraisal guidelines

·         Maintain an up-to-date job plan and personal development plan

·         Register and participate in the RCP CPD scheme

·         The new appointee will be offered consultant mentoring by one of the senior consultants in the department for a period of 6 months.

 

The post-holder will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of clinical notes, electronic records and GP communication.

This timetable could be varied, including days of clinics, by rearrangement of the current consultants’ timetables to accommodate any constraints imposed by the appointees’ special interest and available clinical space in the department.
