We are looking for a Radiographer who is a specialist with extensive experience in this modality and who are keen to progress their careers into a Leadership and Management role within our department and who is committed to excellent patient care. There will also be a requirement to participate in the out-of-hours service.
It is an exciting time to join our team at Milton Keynes Imaging Department, we are expanding with a new scanning centre set to open in 2026 and two Community Diagnostic Centres at Whitehouse Park and Lloyds Court already in place.
Our Imaging Department has a wide range of imaging modalities and has a Trust wide PACS. Main duties of the job
- Perform wide range of Trauma, Acute and General (TAG) procedures according to Trust, Departmental and statutory regulations.
- Provide a high standard of patient care within the specialised area of TAG ensuring a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients.
- To communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the TAG service.
- To supervise, mentor and coach new team members, junior staff and students working within the TAG department.
- To deputise and line manage staff in the absence of the Superintendent Radiographer for Main, Outpatients and Mobiles.
- To ensure a high-quality, safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led TAG service is maintained with patient waiting times kept to a minimum.
- To acquire knowledge of developments in imaging TAG techniques and to improve and maintain professional expertise via continuous professional development.
- To ensure correct maintenance and operation of equipment utilised within the working environment.
- To co-operate with efficient TAG service delivery across the trust (i.e., including acute hospital site, mobile facilities, and community diagnostic centres).
- Fulfil your contractual working hours commitment by participating in a range of 24/7 rostered shift patterns.

Clinical:
- To independently undertake a wide range of TAG procedures, ensuring high professional standards of technical competence and patient care are always maintained.

Qualifications and knowledge
Essential criteria
- BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
- Post-graduate qualification in imaging
- Quality Improvement, transformation, and innovation training
- Health and Care Professions Council Registration
- Evidence of a sound level of computer literacy (MS Teams, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel)
- Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS), radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving communications systems (PACS)
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Sound awareness of data protection, freedom of information and confidentiality issues within NHS
- Evidence of keeping informed of the current imaging techniques & practices
- Knowledge of relevant national imaging standards (e.g., IR(ME)R 2017, IRR ’17 and associated codes of practice)
Experience

- Significant experience in general radiography.
- Post Grad Certificate or extensive experience within an imaging specialty
- Experience in development of policies & guidelines.
- Familiar with fault finding and equipment management within a technologically reliant workplace.
- Experience in digital systems, PACS & RIS.
