Job overview

We are looking for a Band 5 Nurse with at least 12 months post qualification experience to complement our existing nursing team and to work within our dynamic and friendly team. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of skilled and highly motivated staff who provide quality care to children with a wide variety of conditions including medical, surgical, trauma, orthopaedics plastics, ENT and the largest Bone Marrow Transplant Centre non-malignant blood cancers .

Our PICU admits around 480 critically ill children with at least 30% from our local Northwest London catchment area and the remainder are transferred by the acute Retrieval Teams. Our PICU is purpose-built Which has the capacity of 15 Level 3 beds with a 2 beds allocated for High Consequence Infectious Disease, such as Haemorrhagic Fever, Ebola, Marsburg and Lassa Fever, etc. 

We are looking for a Band 5 nurse who is committed to delivering high quality care and supporting our current and future services. The post holder must be willing to engage in all the development opportunities and be enthusiastic about their own development and growth. In return we will enhance your skills in caring for children who are critically unwell. Main duties of the job

  • To deliver efficient, compassionate, and excellent nursing care to patients and their families which is evidence based.
  • To minimise risk and maintain safety of patients and staff; supporting the ward manager in investigating incidents and identifying ways to improve practice. 
  • To actively promote the safeguarding of children and young people. 
  • To use evidence-based practice and actively participate in the progression of nursing within West London Children’s Healthcare (WLCH) and Imperial Healthcare trust

  • RSCN or RN (child)
  • Graduated at Diploma/Degree/MSc Level
Desirable criteria
  • Mentorship/ SSSA Training
  • Capital IV Passport

Experience

  • 12months experience post qualification
