We are excited to offer a new opportunity within our expanding team for a Specialist School Nurse. This role is ideal for a passionate and dedicated professional who is committed to supporting children and young people (CYP) with complex needs and learning disabilities.
As part of our friendly and skilled community-based team, you will deliver high-quality nursing care to CYP across East Berkshire. Based primarily at Kennel Lane School in Bracknell, you will play a key role in providing a seamless and compassionate service to children, young people and their families.
This is a part time position with the ability to offer flexible working between the core hours of 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job

Lead the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the Community Children’s Nursing (CCN) Team.

Deliver training, mentoring and care planning for staff nurses, nursery nurses, support workers and school staff using competency-based training packages.

Develop and maintain individualised care plans for pupils.

Work closely with safeguarding and children-in-care teams, contributing to reports and attending relevant meetings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The must haves for this role:

NMC-registered Children’s Nurse, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing), or Learning Disabilities Nurse.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage complex situations and liaise effectively with school communities and external agencies.

Proven ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and use your initiative.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
