We are looking for dedicated and empathetic experienced Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our working age adult inpatient units.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to service users experiencing acute mental health issues. Your responsibilities will include administering medications, developing individualised care plans, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care. Main duties of the job
Working as part of a multi-skilled, experienced, motivated and creative service, you will be responsible for contributing to the efficient day to day delivery of effective clinical care and risk management of the service users within the ward.
You will have great interpersonal skills and be able to establish a professional working relationship with service users, carers and families. You will be cool in a crisis; it's a busy clinical area and we manage lots of risk-taking behaviour including deliberate self-harm and management of violence and aggression. It is a demanding yet rewarding role.
As a Mental Health Staff Nurse on our acute inpatient units, you will:
· Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and monitoring patient progress.
· Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
· Offer emotional support and therapeutic interventions to patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
· Maintain accurate patient records.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care practices.
· Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
· Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all patients.

The acute inpatient wards are split across two sites. Becklin Centre is made up of 4 acute wards (2 male and 2 female), along with a Crisis Assessment Unit. Newsam centre also has a male acute ward and a PICU.

As a Mental Health Staff Nurse on our acute inpatient units, your main duties and responsibilities will include:
