Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working
All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.
The Trust also welcome staff to work flexibly and we would welcome the conversation at interview regarding flexible working.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague to join the General Surgery team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a special interest in Benign Upper GI and will be afforded the opportunity to collaborate with and develop the service.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The successful candidate will participate in the General Surgery on call rota and their elective work will focus on surgical management of reflux disease, hernia repair (inguinal, incisional and hiatal) and laparoscopic cholecystectomy, together with becoming a core member of the upper GI MDT. They will also be expected to participate in training Specialist Registrars on rotation from HEE and trust grade registrars.

The on-call frequency is currently 1 in 10 and this is supported by a resident registrar as well as other junior doctors and ACPs.
The successful candidate will be expected to support undergraduate education providing clinical teaching and supervision of medical students from Warwick and Buckingham Medical Schools.
