Person specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria

Honours degree in a relevant subject
Relevant MSc or equivalent
State registration as a Clinical Scientist or ability to achieve within a reasonable timescale

Desirable criteria

1st or 2nd class honours degree
Successful completion of Scientist Training Programme in Medical Physics, or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant experience in application of MR physics in a clinical environment
Specialist experience in MR systems, image acquisition and image processing
Experience in giving responsible MR safety advice
Practical experience on a range of MR equipment

Desirable criteria

Teaching at postgraduate level
Previous involvement in research and development activities

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential criteria

Specialist knowledge and understanding of regulations, recommendations and guidelines.
Self-motivated/ability for problem solving and decision making
Good computer skills with Microsoft Office specifically Word & Excel)
Experience of computer programming e.g. Matlab, IDL, python.

You will be a Senior Assessor within our multidisciplinary assessment team, delivering:

Remote developmental histories and child observations (via video calls)
Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
