Healthcare Facilitator/Phlebotomist

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (with a minimum of 5 A-E qualifications which must include Maths and English).
Venepuncture and ECG training
Care Certificate

Desirable criteria

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience/ development.

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience in Phlebotomy is essential
Previous experience of working in a Health or Social Care setting in a paid or voluntary position
Using EMIS/RiO

Desirable criteria

Experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental illness in in-patient care setting or Primary Care Health setting
To be knowledgeable/understanding about factors that cause/impact of mental health problems and associated interventions.

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge/understanding of: 1. Safeguarding 2. Recovery approach 3. The key sections of the Mental Health Act 4. Service user involvement 5. Risk management
Phlebotomy and ECG
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Basic computer skills, ability to use ‘word’ programmes and input data accurately.

Desirable criteria

Demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to undertake training to increase competency level

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.

ADOS Autism Assessor for Children and Young People, based in our Exeter clinic

Time commitment: Full-time employment is preferred, though we can also offer part-time (minimum of 3 days per week) or a self-employed role (again a minimum of 3 days per week).

Location: This role is in-person based at our Exeter, Devon clinic.
