West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
HCPC registration
Master’s degree in advanced clinical education, or equivalent level 7 education or training relevant to role
IMER qualification
Supervision / Coaching / Mentoring
Formal management training or willing to undertake training within 6 months
IELTS Level 7 (Overseas candidates only)
Completion and recognition gained of Stage 1 of the ‘Road Map to FCP’ as detailed by HEE.

Relevant prescribing qualification or willing to undertake training within 6 months
Member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists / Relevant special interest group membership

Experience

Significant experience in musculoskeletal speciality of Physiotherapy, including experience at band 7 (ACP) level or equivalent.
Expert clinical skills in MSK conditions and ability to work outside traditional boundaries
Collaborative working with a range of multi-agency and inter professional resources
Ability to influence and enhance patient care in highly complex circumstances and where information on life changing or limiting conditions/impacts are involved
Evidence of teaching at an advanced level
Experience of developing and implementing care pathways and protocols, policies and procedures
Leading new clinical practice and service redesign solutions with a focus on productivity, efficiency and clinical impact
Continually developing practice in response to changing population health needs, changing commissioner requirements and future developments
Evaluation, audit and improvement of own and others’ clinical practice
Disseminating best practice research findings and quality improvement projects through appropriate media and fora
Experience of operational team management
Facilitating collaborative links between clinical practice and research

The Opportunity

Paloma Health has developed a new gold-standard autism assessment pathway and our own Patient Record software system, which allows us to offer:

An exceptional service and timely assessments, as well as clear strengths and needs-based outcomes, regardless of whether an autism diagnosis is made.
High assessor role satisfaction by improving the experience of delivering assessments. For example, we are building an AI tool to streamline diagnostic report writing, which we know is a pressure of the role.

You will be a Senior Assessor within our multidisciplinary assessment team, delivering:

Remote developmental histories and child observations (via video calls)
Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.

ADOS Autism Assessor for Children and Young People, based in our Exeter clinic

Time commitment: Full-time employment is preferred, though we can also offer part-time (minimum of 3 days per week) or a self-employed role (again a minimum of 3 days per week).

Location: This role is in-person based at our Exeter, Devon clinic.
