We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic OT who is as passionate about caring for our service users as we are to join us to deliver integrated, personalised, place-based and well-coordinated care for adults.

Our teams work closely with GPs, social services, the voluntary sector and other organisations to offer treatment and care in a more integrated - or joined up way.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

·       To provide a person centred occupational therapy service to a defined caseload of service users, situated within the MINT team with occupational therapists and other multi-disciplinary team members.

·       To actively develop and implement a framework of care, which reflects a holistic approach to service user needs, and the seven pillars of clinical governance.

·       To use evidence-based principles to apply clinical skills and reasoning in occupational therapy, assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation which include individual and group orientated approaches.

·       To be a resource for the team, providing occupational therapy professional guidance, and to lead on the evaluation and continued development of occupational therapy in the MINT service.

·       To provide leadership and to take responsibility for the direct supervision of less clinically experienced staff, link and peer support workers and students, including conducting Performance Development Reviews (PDR) as appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification
  • HCPC Registered
  • Clinical supervision training
  • Practice placement educator training
Desirable criteria
  • Management / Leadership training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Considerable post qualification experience as a Band 6 or equivalent Occupational Therapist
  • Clear indication of an interest in the relevant Mental Health area
  • Supervision of O.T.s and support staff
  • Demonstrated involvement in service development
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of community based mental health services
  • Research and audit experience
  • Understanding of the needs of patients in the community

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Applied Knowledge of relevant policy and changes within wider NHS relevant to Mental Health
  • Awareness and knowledge of factors specifically relating to O.T. within the community
  • Demonstrated application of Risk Assessment and management in clinical practice
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Clear effective planning and decision-making skills
