Qualified Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist – Hyndburn & Rossendale NHS Talking Therapies - Full Time - 37.5 hours 

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to work for Hyndburn & Rossendale NHS Talking Therapies service

We are a dedicated team of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Counsellors who offer a range of support to help people make positive changes to reduce stress and anxiety and improve their wellbeing.

An opportunity now exists for a band 7 accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who is passionate about providing meaningful and effective therapeutic experiences to address common mental health problems.

Main duties of the job

NHS Talking Therapies CBT Therapists offer accessible screening, assessment and treatment for common mental health problems, giving service users a greater degree of choice and flexibility by providing CBT either face-to-face, online or in Groups.  You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality service outcomes against robust performance measures and have excellent interpersonal qualities; time management skills; an ability to work autonomously; and an enthusiasm for working in an ever-developing IAPT environment.

We are an innovative and forward thinking service. We provide rapid accessible mental health screening, assessment and treatment whilst enabling people accessing the service to have a collaborative role in the choice of intervention they receive.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Formally recognised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Post Graduate (Master’s Level) diploma
  • Provisional CBT Accreditation with BABCP
  • Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN or Social Worker OR KSA equivalence

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of cognitive behaviour therapy
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
  • Knowledge of the NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) model and a willingness to develop the service clinically.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • A broad range of experience of working with a wide variety of clients that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
  • Significant experience of delivering specialist Cognitive Behaviour Therapy assessment and treatment of clients in Adult Mental Health, and managing own clinical caseload of therapy clients safely and effectively
  • Experience of managing risk and safeguarding concerns according to relevant policies
