Job overview

A fantastic full-time opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Nuclear Medicine Services team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.

This role will be primarily based at Watford General Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital, working in close collaboration with our neighbouring trusts and imaging network.

The purpose of this post is to be an integral member of the Radiography Team, delivering a high standard of radiographic nuclear medicine services to our patients, while also supporting the education and development of radiographers, assistants, students, and other learners.

Main duties of the job

To undertake imaging examinations within the Radiology Department to the standard required by the Department of Radiology.  
 
To rotate between trust sites for Nuclear Medicine and other modalities if required.   
 
To participate in 5-day working. 
 
To assist the Lead Nuclear Medicine Radiographers in the day to day running of the Department, maintaining the high standards at all times.  
 
To deputise for Lead Nuclear Medicine Radiographers in their absence.

Person specification

Education and qualifications:

Essential criteria
  • Either DCR(R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Evidence of up-to-date CPD.
  • HCPC registration.

Knowledge:

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge of adaptive techniques.
  • Aware of current trends relevant to the profession including IRMER legislation.
  • Understanding of IRMER Implications for diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance process and policy related to clinical area.

Experience:

Essential criteria
  • Post qualification experience across a range of modalities.
  • Experience in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Experience of working in an acute NHS sector.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Audit in clinical areas.
