An opportunity has arisen within Brent Therapy Services based at Wembley Centre for Health and Care for a  Physiotherapist. 

You will

  • Be an active member of the clinical team, providing a comprehensive therapy service to residents of Brent referred into the service.
  • Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with referrers to the service, to facilitate appropriate referrals and an understanding of the role of the Physiotherapist and the Multi-professional team
  • Be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, rehabilitation assistants and Physiotherapy students
  • Support self and service development through active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and by participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Undertake specialised uni-professional and multi-professional assessments.
  • To develop and implement treatment plans for clients. These clients will present with a variety of conditions, such as musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and frailty.
  • Participate in the Assessment Process when appropriate, performing overview assessments and complex specialist assessments as appropriate, including the ordering of moving and handling equipment relevant to rehabilitation need.
  • To communicate relevant medical information, assessment details, advice, and recommendations across agencies and with clients in compliance with Trust Guidelines for sharing of information and informed consent. These agencies include General Practitioner’s, Social Services, Healthcare professionals, voluntary agencies, and residential homes.
  • Be responsible for gaining valid, informed consent for assessment, treatment interventions and sharing of information in compliance with legal and professional guidelines.
  • To be able to interpret and follow these guidelines in circumstances where clients do not have capacity to provide informed consent.

Experience

  • Experience post registration as a Band 5 physiotherapist
  • Experience working at a Junior level in a wide range of specialised clinical areas including outpatients, neurology, rehabilitation, orthopedics and respiratory

  • Experience working with voluntary organisations.
  • Experience in service development projects

Skills & Knowledge

  • Skills in the assessment and treatment of adults with complex multi-pathologies and neurological conditions
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex medical conditions including neurological conditions, multi-pathologies and falls
  • Knowledge of role of Allied Health Professionals and interdisciplinary team working
  • Ability to apply core Physiotherapy skills across a range of clinical conditions within a client centered, goal setting
  • Knowledge of outcome measures and evidence-based practice
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritise and demonstrate clinical reasoning
  • Basic IT skills – Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel
  • Teaching of junior staff / students, peers in Inservice training setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of Social Services and voluntary agencies
  • Involvement in Appraisal Scheme
