Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Paediatrician with neurology and epilepsy specialist interest.

This 10PA post is a substantive consultant appointment for a Paediatrician with neurology and epilepsy specialist interest at the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of individuals devoted to providing the very best care for our patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to provide 3.5 out-patient clinics in neurology and epilepsy a week across Watford General and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals, including multi-disciplinary emergency breakthrough seizure clinics with the Epilepsy Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).

 The post holder will work collaboratively with another consultant with specialist interest in neurology/epilepsy and the Epilepsy CNS to provide in-reach support to inpatients with acute seizures and neurological concerns. The post holder will be expected to provide leadership, training and support to the Epilespy CNS.

  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Paediatrics - CCT / CESR
  • Valid BLS training
Desirable criteria
