We are excited to be able to advertise for a Team Lead within the Central & West Network for our Employment Advisor Team located across the whole footprint of LSCFT, based at Pathways in Preston, this is a Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity to cover a period of 5 months until the end of March 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced practitioner to consolidate and expand upon their management skills. We are looking for a highly motivated, pro-active individual who is looking for their next challenge. We are looking for applicants with substantial experience of working within an Employment Advisor Team within a mental health trust.
You will have a proven record of accomplishment working with a team delivering high quality services and have excellent interpersonal qualities; time management skills; an ability to work autonomously and in a team; experience of providing formal managerial supervision / mentorship to staff, and an enthusiasm for working in an ever-developing Employment Advisor Service embedded within Talking Therapies. The post-holder will work alongside the Operational and Clinical leadership team, providing support to the Service Manager and Clinicians alike within the respective teams. The post-holder will need to be available to work 37.5hrs/week Monday-Friday. There will be an expectation of Hybrid work from base and home, with some travel across the footprint of LSCFT required.
Main duties of the job
To provide first line management for Employment Advisor Teams within services delivered by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will lead and be accountable for the day to day operational management, performance and budgetary responsibility for Employment Advisor service Central & West Network as delegated by the Service Manager.
The post holder will deliver management supervision.
The post holder will support the Service Manager by providing leadership to the service to deliver a high quality and high performing service.
The post holder will work with the Service Manager to ensure effective operational arrangements; line management and clinical supervision are in place within the team. The post holder will establish strong working relationships with providers and commissioners, other healthcare service providers, the Local Authority and providers within the 3rd sector.
To support the delivery of clinical governance, quality improvement and performance management agenda within an identified locality team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject e.g. Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Human Resources, Careers Advice or Employment Law
- OR Equivalent or current experience leading / managing an employment support service for people with mental health conditions
- Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Extensive knowledge of the local labour market and experience of working with employers e.g. HR professionals; OH professionals; Senior management.
- Knowledge of different models of mental health, physical health and how this impacts upon employment.
- Knowledge of current health and safety law, and Equality Act 2010
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous / existing experience in vocational work, careers advice, job retention and presenteeism
- Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic partnerships with people with a mental health condition.
- Specialist advisory skills to support people, who are facing complex employment situations related to mental ill health to obtain, return to or retain employment. Experience leading a team of employment support specialists
