Are you a passionate and skilled ophthalmologist with a subspecialty interest in glaucoma? Do you thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment where patient care and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything you do?

We are seeking a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist  with specialist interest in Glaucoma to lead and deliver high-quality glaucoma services within our dynamic Ophthalmology Department. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Lead the glaucoma service, delivering outpatient clinics, laser treatments, and theatre sessions.
  • Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 12) shared with Ashford & St Peters’ Hospital.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in teaching and research in collaboration with the University of Surrey and the Surrey Cancer Research Institute.

Qualifications

  • Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Ophthalmology via CCT or Portfolio Pathway
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • FRCOphth or qualification at an equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead independent ophthalmology theatre lists
  • Clinical fellowship experience in glaucoma
  • Demonstrated teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
