Job Summary

 
 The Delta Centre is an innovative hub for medical education, training, and research. We are seeking a highly motivated F3-level doctor to join us as a Teaching & Research Fellow. The postholder will contribute to high-quality teaching, supervision, audit, and research within the Centre. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a strong portfolio in medical education and research.
 

 Main Duties & Responsibilities

 
 Teaching & Training
• Deliver small and large group teaching to medical students and junior doctors.
• Develop structured teaching programmes and resources.
• Supervise, mentor, and support students in their clinical and academic learning.
• Encourage and support students to design and deliver their own teaching presentations.
 Research & Audit
• Support design, implementation, and analysis of audits and research projects.
• Assist in preparing abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for submission to conferences and journals.
• Maintain and oversee databases for ongoing research and quality improvement projects.
 
 Digital Education
• Record student presentations and teaching sessions.
• Edit and upload materials to the Delta Centre’s YouTube channel and other online platforms.
• Contribute to the development of online and blended learning resources.
 
 Academic Development & Administration
• Promote a culture of scholarship, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning of educational activities.
• Undertake administrative tasks related to teaching, audit, and research projects.
 
 Professional Development
• Access to study time and professional development opportunities.
• Support for conference presentations and publications.
• Opportunity to pursue formal qualifications in medical education if desired.
 
 Working Relationships
• Reports to: Director of Education, Delta Centre.
• Works with: Teaching staff, medical students, junior doctors, and administrative teams.

Essential
Desirable
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification. Full GMC registration. Completion of Foundation Year 2 (or equivalent).
Postgraduate qualification in medical education.
Experience
Demonstrated interest in teaching and medical education. Basic knowledge of audit and research methodology.
Experience supervising students or junior colleagues. Previous presentations or publications. Experience producing educational content or using digital platforms (e.g., YouTube).
Skills
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, online platforms). Excellent organisation and time management. Strong written and verbal communication. Team-working skills.
Video editing or online learning content creation.
Knowledge
Awareness of current developments in medical education and training.
Knowledge of ethics/governance in research.
Personal Attributes
Motivated, proactive, adaptable. Enthusiastic about innovation in teaching. Commitment to personal and professional development.
