We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Cardiac MRI Radiographer to join our Cardiac MRI team at University Hospital Southampton. This role is to provide high quality Cardiac MR imaging for the purpose of diagnosis and research in a dedicated MRI Unit. Our busy unit scans both adults and children for cardiac and thoracic disease, including Adenosine and Dobutamine stress scans and patients with complex congenital abnormalities.
The successful candidate must be innovative, organised and compassionate, with a drive to learn. Ideally, the successful candidate will have some relevant competencies in CMRI.
The successful candidate must be adaptable and able to respond to fast moving and difficult situations. They must be able to collaborate with Radiographers, Radiologists, Cardiologists, Anaesthetists and the Catheter Lab Multi-Disciplinary Team in order to provide and maintain a high-quality service to all our patients. This role reports to the Lead Superintendent Radiographer of Cardiothoracic Radiology.

To undertake scanning procedures, across a variety of complex clinical presentations and pathologies, within the Cardiac MR unit.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of cross sectional anatomy
Sound knowledge of MRI safety and the MRI environment.
IV cannulation certificate/competency.
At least 2 years previous MRI experience, ideally some CMR exposure.
We typically work 0800-1800, over 4 days, this includes weekend working.

Previous or relevant experience necessary

- Experience of working in a department using IR(ME)R 2018 and IRR 2017 regulations in clinical practice
- Considerable post graduate experience in relevant specialist imaging
- Understanding of COSHH, Manual Handling, Basic Life support
- Sound knowledge of MRI safety
- Proven ability to effectively adapt imaging technique when necessary
- Evidence of personal and professional development
- Previous supervisory/team leading experience
