Job overview
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Practice Development Nurse to join our Mental Health Inpatient Services at Pendleview, Pennine. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing clinical practice, supporting staff learning, and driving quality improvement across our inpatient wards.
As a Practice Development Nurse, you will work collaboratively with ward teams, educators, and senior nurses to promote evidence-based practice and professional development. You will help create a positive learning environment that empowers staff to deliver safe, compassionate, and recovery-focused care.
We’re looking for a registered mental health nurse (RMN) with:
• A current NMC registration
• Experience in inpatient mental health settings
• A passion for staff development and education
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
• A commitment to continuous improvement and person-centred care
Experience in teaching, mentorship, or practice development is desirable.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Support the induction, preceptorship, and ongoing development of nursing and support staff.
Facilitate reflective practice, clinical supervision, and skills training within inpatient teams.
Lead on the implementation of best practice guidelines and quality improvement initiatives.
Work alongside clinical teams to identify training needs and promote professional growth.
Contribute to audits, service development projects, and policy reviews.
Act as a role model for high standards of clinical care and leadership.
