About you
Exciting opportunities are available for qualified Radiologists (Senior Medical Officers) who want to make a positive impact while working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and supportive team. We are looking for Radiologists who are passionate about delivering quality care to our patients. Roles in general radiology and a range of radiology subspecialties, including abdomen and pelvis, neurology, interventional, and diagnostic radiology, are available across the country.
Depending on the specific position, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
· Diagnostic imaging: Interpreting X-rays, CTs, MRIs, and ultrasounds to diagnose medical conditions
· Patient care: Ensuring imaging procedures are safe and appropriate
· Interventional procedures: Performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainages, and catheter/stent insertions
· Consultation and collaboration: Advising other physicians, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and supporting treatment planning
· Quality and safety: Maintaining imaging standards, overseeing protocols, and minimising radiation exposure
· Teaching and mentorship: Educating and supervising students, residents, and junior staff
· Research and professional development: Engaging in clinical research and continuing education to advance radiology practice
· Administration: Managing departments, developing policies, and implementing new technologies

About you
To work as a Radiologist (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Practitioners must meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively.

Salary and benefits
Senior Medical Officers receive 6 weeks of annual leave and 12 paid public holidays, giving you time to explore our beautiful country and raise a family in our diverse communities. Along with your base salary as a Senior Medical Officer, you will have an annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance of £6.9K GBP ($16K NZD) (pro-rated for part-time employees), reimbursement of your registration and practising certificate fees and your professional indemnity insurance is covered by Health New Zealand.
Senior Medical Officers receive a base salary relative to their level of experience.
· Medical Officers annual salaries range £61.5K GBP - £91K GBP ($142K NZD - $210K NZD) plus allowances
· Medical Specialists annual salaries range £80.1K GBP - £115.7K GBP ($185K NZD - $267K NZD) plus allowances
Additional allowances are paid on top of base salary and vary due to location and service.
