An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-disciplinary Integrated Respiratory Team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced respiratory nurse who is passionate about providing high quality respiratory care.

This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to further develop their specialist respiratory knowledge and skills within a well-established and supportive multi-professional team.
The Integrated Respiratory team work across both hospital and community settings, providing specialist acute inpatient care and ongoing community support.

The IRS supports admission avoidance, acute inpatient care, early supported discharge, outpatient clinics, community MDT clinics, Virtual MDT clinics, community home assessments and home oxygen assessment & review.

Car driver essential.

Main duties of the job

To provide highly specialist respiratory practice within the multi-disciplinary management and care of adult patients with a respiratory condition, including COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis and Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD).

The post holder will demonstrate an expert understanding and knowledge of long-term respiratory diseases and management, and be able to work as an independent autonomous practitioner.

Working as part of the Integrated Respiratory Team to provide holistic patient centered care which is focused on ensuring care is seamless, proactive and coordinated across the hospital and community setting.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide highly specialist respiratory management to patients with Chronic Respiratory Disease and ensure a seamless integrated respiratory service between the acute and community setting.

To contribute to admission avoidance, acute inpatient assessment & review, early supported discharge, outpatient clinics, community MDT clinics, Virtual MDT clinics, community home assessments and home oxygen assessment & review.

To work within the multi-disciplinary team providing a holistic approach to expert respiratory care, delivering high impact respiratory interventions across the pathway.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • First Level Registration
  • Evidence of continuing education and development
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Post qualification clinical experience in respiratory care
Desirable criteria
  • ENB 998 – Teaching and Assessing/Mentor Preparation

Knowledge

  • Recent experience of learning and development

  • Experience of clinical audit/research relating to clinical practice
