Specialist Grade Psychiatrist
Specialist Grade
Job overview
Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time (10 PAs) Specialist Psychiatrist in the East CMHT service based at St Mary’s House. Less than full time arrangements can be negotiated.
This vacancy is for a new additional Specialist Grade Psychiatrist post which has arisen due to a review of the current medical workload on the CMHTs. The successful applicant will provide additional medical and clinical leadership to the North East CMHT (covering York Road PCN and Central PCN) in the East Locality. The Specialist Psychiatrist, alongside the Consultant Psychiatrist is expected to be a key member of that leadership team which ensures high quality standards of care. Following Community Transformation in 2024, it is recognized that the CMHT covering Central and York Road PCNs require two Approved Clinicians– a fulltime Consultant Psychiatrist and a full time Specialist grade doctor to work alongside to provide adequate clinical leadership and psychiatric input.
Main duties of the job
The service is undergoing a significant transformation, in line with the NHS long term plan for developing new models of integrated working for primary and community mental health care. The ambition of the transformation programme is to soften the boundaries between primary and secondary care, including strengthening and increasing the involvement of VCSE relationships. Proposed timetable shown in the work programme section of this job description.
