The post holder has a key role in facilitating undergraduate educational activities within CNWL, but also more widely within the Year 5 Psychiatry course. The post offers extensive teaching opportunities and responsibilities. The post holder will develop their undergraduate education and teaching administration skills, working closely with CNWL’s Director of Clinical Studies and ICSM’s Year 5 Course Leader for Psychiatry.

Please note: If you already have a National Training Number (NTN) (i.e. you are on a designated training scheme in England), please note that Health Education England (HEE) request 6 months’ notice for Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) applications. You may wish to liaise with HEE prior to the interview date or apply for an OOPT before the interview (you can always withdraw your application if you are not appointed to the teaching fellow post).

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

Undergraduate Clinical Studies (CNWL) is responsible for delivering clinical placements in Psychiatry for Year 5 students at Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM). CNWL currently host approximately 230 ICSM medical students a year, who complete their psychiatry placements across 3 borough-based sectors: Brent; Harrow and Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster (KCW). Placements last 6 weeks each; there are 6 rotations of placements per academic year. Our placement sites are identified by their community bases but all have inpatient bases aligned to them - they are Park Royal Centre for MH, Northwick Park and St Charles. The teaching fellow significantly supports the student experience of Psychiatry and attainment of learning outcomes as highlighted within their curriculum.

The undergraduate team comprises the Director of Clinical Studies (DCS) and Teaching Fellow, supported by the Teaching Coordinator (TCO). However, there is a virtual team of enthusiastic teachers (including site and firm leads, ST4-6 undergraduate representatives and educators across all medical grades and specialties in Psychiatry).
