Senior Sister/Charge Nurse

We are inviting applications for a band seven senior sister/charge nurse to join our dynamic team.
We are looking for a motivated committed, flexible, approachable experienced Emergency nurse who has management and leadership skills and excellent communication skills.  

You will have a working knowledge and understanding of current issues in acute NHS setting, clinical governance and risk management.  

You will need to demonstrate up-to-date clinical credibility and have evidence of advanced clinical skills in practice, with the ability to lead a busy department and represent the department trust wide.

Essential: Emergency care pathway, degree or working toward degree, ALS.

Desirable: APLS, ATNC, V300 independent nurse prescribing.

The successful applicant must be able to work an internal rotation shift pattern of days and nights.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The post holder will deliver patient care on a daily basis. They should be expert in all areas of nursing care from patient’s admission to discharge, which facilitates clinical practice development.

They have overall responsibility for day-to-day management of their clinical area and for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures maintaining associated records.

They will manage, support and lead a team of nurses in the delivery of evidence based patient centered care, which is of a high standard. 

They will manage unit staff including appraisal, Rota’s, recruitment and selection and the supervision of learners. 

They will provide specialist advice to patients, relatives and members of the multi-disciplinary team. 

Utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.

They will lead the Emergency Floor through the achieving excellence program and be a pivotal role model within their specialty upholding the trusts values and behaviours at all times

  • Teaching qualification mentorship, ENB 998, City and Guilds 730 or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of current issues in acute NHS setting
  • Knowledge of clinical governance issues such as complaints handling, clinical risk management
  • Evidence of research based practice
