Trosolwg o'r swydd

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Senior cardiology trainees with a subspecialty interest in cardiac imaging are invited to apply for the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at Southampton General Hospital. This 1 year post in a large tertiary centre commences in August 2026.

The cardiac imaging fellow undertakes transoesophageal, stress, contrast and 3D echocardiography lists, attends and presents at the aortic and mitral valve MDT meetings, attends the specialist heart valve clinic and supports physiologists in the department with general echocardiographic inquiries. There are also opportunities for training in cardiac MRI on a once weekly basis and to undertake audit or research projects if desired.  There is also an opportunity for involvement in the transcatheter edge-to-edge mitral and tricuspid valve repair services.

There is a requirement to participate in the cardiology registrar middle grade on-call rota. There is no commitment to the General medical rota nor to general cardiology clinics.

This post is ideally suited to registrars in the final year of training or post CCT that are looking for significant experience in advanced echocardiography and heart valve disease prior to seeking a consultant post. Informal enquiries are welcomed.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
