Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as a Senior Nurse and make a meaningful impact in the lives of cochlear implant and auditory implant users. USAIS is a nationally recognised centre of excellence, providing specialist assessment, surgical intervention, and lifelong support for individuals with auditory implants. This is a full-time, permanent post with the option for part-time/job share.
As a Senior Nurse, you will play a vital role in offering expert clinical care and supporting urgent clinical queries. You will play a pivotal role in the clinical management of patients undergoing auditory implant procedures. You’ll work autonomously and collaboratively across disciplines, contributing to pre-operative assessments, post-operative care, and long-term rehabilitation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead nurse-led clinics for implant assessment and follow-up
- Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients and families
- Collaborate with audiologists, surgeons, and rehabilitation specialists
- Contribute to service development, audit, and research initiatives
- Lead on Infection Control Policy
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Nurse
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the patients
- Ability to demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care
- Ability to work within professional boundaries, while providing care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care
