West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Do you want to be part of a team making Hammersmith & Fulham a great place to grow old? The Community Independence Service (CIS) provides planned and unplanned nursing and therapy interventions for older residents who have had a recent deterioration in their physical health and is run jointly between West London NHS Trust and CNWL Foundation Trust across the three inner London Boroughs.
We are looking for someone with a passion for community rehabilitation who will be key in supporting the occupational and physiotherapists to deliver effective rehabilitation programmes during a person’s episode of care. You will develop and maintain relationships that integrate health and social care to support and reduce the need for hospital admission for patients, ensuring a they maintain their ability to engage in daily activities. Working as a member of the Community Independence Service you will contribute to a person’s episode of rehabilitation to maintain or improve their independence to continue living in their primary residence with as minimal support as possible.
You will work under the guidance of health care professionals to assist therapists by carrying out delegated aspects of patient care without direct supervision and reporting back patient’s progress or issues to the relevant therapist.
You will undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients in the community or the management of patients at home to prevent imminent unnecessary hospital admission.
You will be responsible for ordering equipment and department supplies, ensuring that these are received in full and good working order, chasing any outstanding items or actions as required.

West London NHS Trust is launching a national psychology service for terrorism trauma care. The service will offer specialist psychological treatment for people affected by acts of terrorism in the UK and abroad, including survivors, bereaved families, witnesses and others directly or indirectly impacted. The service will be delivered with Victim Support and Peace Collective as part of a coordinated national model.
We are seeking a Clinical Lead with expertise in trauma and terrorism or major incident responses, strong operational and clinical leadership, and experience across child and adult pathways. The role involves service development, governance, supervision and partnership working with voluntary and statutory agencies.

- Post-graduate doctoral level training (or its equivalent) in Clinical Psychology OR Counselling Psychology
- Eligibility for Chartered Status by the British Psychological Society
- HCPC registered or, for those outside the UK, eligible and will be registered by the time of taking up post.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
- Experience of working with people with mental health problems
- Experience of facilitating therapeutic groups

- Further training in trauma focussed interventions (CBT, EMDR or NET)
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
- Experience of the application of clinical /counselling psychology in different cultural contexts.
- Experience of working with parent infant attachment focused interventions e.g. video interaction guidance.
- Experience of running structured psycho-educational group-based interventions
Knowledge

- Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology

- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to patients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings
