Positive Behaviour Practitioner

Join Our Therapy Team as a PBS Practitioner

At Autism Unlimited, we’ve spent over 50 years supporting children, adults, and families living with autism. We’re now looking for a dedicated PBS Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary therapy team.

Working alongside speech and language and occupational therapists you will play a key role in supporting development and helping the people we support achieve positive outcomes. You’ll work closely with our Therapy and PBS Lead to deliver meaningful, person-centered support.

This is a full-time role (39 hours per week), with flexible or part-time hours considered for the right candidate.

The role offers variety, with opportunities to support both students and adults in the community—making a real difference to the people we support every day.

Duties would include:

  • Delivering evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) tailored to student needs, including functional assessments and person-centered intervention planning, implementation, and review.
  • Working closely with classroom teams to ensure PBS strategies are applied consistently and effectively.
  • Supporting and delivering PBS training to staff to build confidence and best practice across the team.
  • Helping develop and strengthen our PBS service, contributing ideas to enhance and expand our current approach.

Our ideal applicant will need to have:

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the role e.g. Psychology, Child Development, Mental Health Nursing.
  • Experience of implementing a positive behaviour support service.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and positive support processes including how to construct and implement a behaviour support plan.
  • Experience of supporting autistic children/young people and/or those with learning difficulties.
A driving license to enable travel between sites.
