Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant General Paediatrician at the Whittington Health NHS Trust.

We are looking for a general paediatrician who is confident in managing the general paediatric in-patient ward (including high dependency unit) and experienced in running out patient clinics. We offer you the opportunity to work in a friendly and cohesive department providing high-quality services. There is a strong focus on multidisciplinary teaching, and we have a consistently excellent training reputation.

We welcome enquiries from applicants on the specialist register and from trainees who are within six months of CCT and General Paediatric CCT holders with appropriate neonatal experience.

Interview date: 10th June 2026

**Please note that as per our Trust processes you will be expected to make yourself available to attend a face to face interview if successfully short listed for this post.**

Working for our organisation

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff.  We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.  The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
