Are you looking for a new challenge? UHS Estates Limited have an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, forward-thinking team as a Finance Assistant to the Estates, Facilities and Capital Development (EFCD) teams.
Role Overview
The role is 1 of 3 Finance Assistants and sits within the Compliance and Business Unit, supporting colleagues across EFCD. Key tasks include, but are not limited to, raising Purchase Orders, receipting invoices, and completing procurement documentation.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
• Provide financial assistance to support EFCD management
• Provide accurate reporting and variance analysis
• Maintain key working relationships across the department and with external suppliers/contractors to maintain clear communication on behalf of the department
What we’re looking for
You will:
• Have previous experience working with a range of financial and budget transactions (£25M-£45M/annum).
• Be able to understand and question financial matters.
• Have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and be able to communicate at different levels.
• Have a proactive approach to managing workloads with the flexibility and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Have a high standard of IT skill, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
Person specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- A Level (C & Above) BTEC/NVQ Level 4 / Diploma or HNC in relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Advanced IT Skills Qualification or equivalent experience
- AAT accounting qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of working with a wide range of finance transactions, demonstrating an ability to understand how to understand, process and question financial matters
- Experience of working with service managers and handling questions regarding financial matters
- Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records
- Experience of producing management information / financial reports manipulating data gathered from a variety of sources.
- Experience investigating and resolving variances
