In CYP MH East Lancashire (Child and Young People Mental Health East Lancashire) We have well established Consultant-led teams providing specialist mental health services across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. This is an exciting time to join our team as a Lead for Nurse Prescribing as we build on our existing track record and develop our range of services in line with a regional transformation programme modelled on Thrive.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a committed qualified nurse prescriber who is passionate about working with children and young people with complex presentations, and who is also interested wider CYPMH – East Lancashire development initiatives. 

This role is open to a qualified Non-Medical nurse prescriber with an active MNC pin and an accreditation post graduate Non-Medical prescribing qualification. This role requires:

  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Work as an independent Non-Medical prescriber for children and young people within specialist CYPMH services.
  • To contribute to clinical effectiveness and quality across the Lancashire footprint including productivity.
  • The ability to act as a clinical supervisor to Nurse Prescribers, trainees and colleagues
  • The ability to relate and provide accessible services to a diverse community

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1st level registered nurse to diploma level AND Non-Medical prescribing qualification
  • Active NMC registration

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention and management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing appropriate to a variety of audiences.
  • Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
  • Evidence of potential to provide collaborative team leadership.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive CAMHS experience as a practitioner.
  • Extensive experience of assessment and treatment in a variety of multi-disciplinary settings.
  • Experience of managing CAMHS cases in a multi-disciplinary setting consolidated experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of children, young people and their families/carers.
